CONTAINER OF HUMANATARIAN GOOD TO SAFE HARBOR BAPTIST ORPHANAGE
Container Grant Approved.
Dear Friends of Safe Harbor we applied for a grant to get our container shipped to Nigeria. The grant has been approved and they are now taking bids with shipping companies to ship the container. They will pay for the shipping from door to door but we have to pay the customs taxes and hire a clearing agent. I estimate that we have somewhere between 6 to 8 weeks to raise the funds for the customs taxes and agent. Timothy Ojo has estimated that based upon the 40 ft container and the goods inside it will run around $30 a sq. Ft. The container has 320 sq. ft. and presently we received funds for 30 sq. ft. which is $910.00. We need donations for 290 more sq ft. to have the funds on hand when the container arrives in Nigeria. Would you pray about giving $30.00 or more to help us get the container cleared at the port. In the container we have over $250,000.00 worth of supplies. New clothes, village school furniture, beds for more oprhans, basic supplies for the orphanage, washer, dryer, etc. The clothes alone are worth $180,000.00. They will be distributed to the orphanage, village children where we minister etc. Please help with this urgent need. Please send your gift to Safe Harbor Baptist Ministries, P.O. Box 1610, Ringgold, GA. 30736. You can also donate through PayPal. Go to PayPal web site enter our PayPal account name jimjanammons@yahoo.com and you can donate using your credit card, bank card etc. It is safe to use PayPal.

Mosquito nets
Many have been asking how much it would cost to buy a mosquito net for one of our Children at Safe Harbor Baptist Children's home and orphanage. I inquired from the Orphanage on the cost of buying them in Nigeria and also the condition of the screen on the four house for the children. A net cost $10 for one child and the condition of the screen on the houses is rotten and needs to be replaced. the cost for the 4 houses would be $250.00. With the rainy season upon us and two o...f our children have already had Malaria this year we need to take this protection to help keep Mosquito's out of the house. Malaria is still the number 1 killer of children in Nigeria and for those who survive it leaves them weak for months. Please pray and help us get the Nets and the houses screened. You can send the funds to Safe Harbor Baptist Ministries Inc. P.O. Box 1610, Ringgold, GA 30736. Designate the funds Nets

REPORT: JUST IN FROM MISSIONARY TIMOTHY OJO FROM THE VILLAGE OF EGBEJODA
Jimmy Ammons Just received these photo's from Timothy Ojo, He went to the village of Egbejoda this past Sunday. We established this church back in 1992. The first service we had in the village 22 souls came to the meeting and 22 were saved. The church has continued to grow and reach out to surrounding villages. We used Bible College student to go there for years and then one of our graduates felt he should go there full time. Joel Abraham served the Lord there for many years and we supported him. Two years ago he accepted the pastorate at another church. God gave another pastor who's name is Joel Adesakin. He is being used of the Lord mightly in the area. The name of the church is Isle Isin Baptist church which means Temple Baptist Church. Now Timothy reported over 100 in attendance on Sunday and SIX SOULS SAVED. AMEN. He mentioned the need for a motorcycle for the ministry. This is a remote area and only accessible by Motorcycle or Truck. Over the years more than 5 motorcycles have been worn out going back and forth to the villages in the area. We need for you to pray that the lord will provide the Motorcycle for the pastor. A new one now cost about $900.00. Here is my prayer, Lord please provide this vital need for Pastor Adesakin to work in the village church. In Jesus Name. NOTE: He cannot afford to buy one himself he served the Lord by faith and is supported only $50.00 a month.

Paul Nenge (Eye)
Dear Friends,
Paul woke up Tuesday morning with his eye swollen shut. He was taken to the hospital for treatment and it was determined that he had been stung or bitten by an insect. He was treated and is doing better. Continue to pray for his healing. Also pray for sponsors for Paul's monthly needs. Any amount sponsored helps feed, clothe, educated, medical needs, and housing for Paul. Paul parents were killed by Muslim extremist in the northern part of Nigeria.

One of our Car's at Safe Harbor Burns
Dear Friends,
Our red Datsun Bluebird caught fire last week in the village of Abekihen. The car was used to transport the children to school during the week and on the weekends Pastor David Adesina used it to go to the village and Pastor and Evangelize. He was on his way to church after picking up a car full of people from another village and the fire started. We praise the Lord the engine was not damaged nor the inside of the car. It will have to be completely rewired as well as replace all other items under the hood. We are waiting for a mechanic to get a price for us to fix it. Then we will wait on the Lord to supply the funds to repair the car.

Food Buffet - UMMMMM so Good
I love to go to a good buffet and eat out in the US. There is Rhyan's Golden Corral, and numerous Oriental buffets. You go and eat all you can of anything on the buffet. After Church on Sunday Morning we will go and stand in line up to 45 minutes just to eat. (Wonder if we would stand in Line 45 minutes to get into church to worship- just a thought off the top of the head). On to my story, I like a special Oriental buffet on Lee Hwy in Chattanooga, TN. Steak, Oriental foods of all kinds, Fried Plantain, um, eggs rolls, etc. and to top it off, fruit bar, desert bar, and of course dip your own ice cream. Let's face it we in America love to eat out and eat all we can. I would say we are blessed in a land flowing with milk and honey.
Now I want to take you to another part of the World, the World of Orphans in Nigeria. lets visit one of their food buffets first.
Today's menu, a bowl of garri, shared in a common bowl. Now, as I see the other side of the world, I have so many questions and thoughts going through my mind. I don't like some of the questions but I should answer them. 1. I thank God that I was born in America. I hear this often, I grew up in a home that my parents considered us to be poor by American standards, yet we had good food to eat, most of the time two cars, toys to play with etc. I had no choice where I was born, but does it make me favored because of it, My answer is no, It make me responsible. Another though I have is my weight. I am 60 lbs overweight. Why should I be so big and eat so much when millions do not get a meal a day. My wife and I were called to be missionaries to West Africa and we served have served the Lord there for over 33 years. We have seen the Lord save thousands of souls and lives changed. Since 1990 the orphan population in Nigeria has gone from 2.5 million to over 10 million orphans. Our burden is to reach them one at a time. I feel that I eat too much by loving to eat, instead of eating to live. Orphans struggle day in and day out just to eat to survive and live. Surely, I can cut down my eating and give more to help them. Lord help me. I have many more thoughts on this to share in coming blog post. Let me know your thoughts . Brother Jim Ammons
Safe Harbor Baptist Nursery and Primary School in the Village of Abekihen in Nigeria
Dear Friends,
We need your prayers and support to finish our School Building in the village of Abekihen. We provide education for over 65 Vulnerable Children from 5 villages who would not get an education without our school. The school and church had to move into the unfinished school building. the area school inspector came and gave us just a short time to finish the building or we would have to close the school. God has blessed and we have poured the concrete floors, made the doors and windows, and built 40 school desk. We need to plaster the inside and outside to finish the building. We have until the end of the month due to an extension the inspector gave us. We need only $2,500 to finish the building. Please pray and help. THE ORPHANS SHADOW
THE ORPHANS SHADOW
"My days are like a shadow that declineth; and I am whithered like grass." Ps. 102:11
Hello, I am a shadow of an Orphan in Nigeria, Thank you for taking a few minutes to read my story. You can see my shadow but what does my shadow tell you about me. First, it shows you that I exist. My shadow also shows you that I am just on of the 9 million other orphans in Nigeria. There are many things about me that my shadow does not tell you. It does not tell you my age or gender. Open the eyes of your heart and here is what you might see. You might see me living under a bridge, in a gutter, on the side of the road, or any place I can find shelter and safety from those who might abuse me.
If you could really see me through the eyes of your heart here is what you might see. You might see me in a garbage pile or begging on the street or stealing just to get something to eat, or trying to find a cool cup of water from a dry muddy creek or a gutter in the street.
If you could see me through the eyes of your heart, here is what you might see. You might see me taken and put into child trafficking used to make money for others, I am just an object to them. I am made to do this over and over I feel so hopeless. Where I end up I do not know.
If you could see me through the eyes of your heart here is what you might see. You might see me as one of the more than 20 babies abandoned at birth, left in a garbage pile, on the steps of a church, in a gutter, or a door at a clinic. If there is no one to take me where do I go? Is there anybody that will love me and take me in, I am a child and is there anywhere, anywhere to go?
If you could see me through the eyes of your heart, here is what you might see. You might see that in my heart I feel unloved, abandoned, homeless, helpless and hopeless, does anyone care for my Soul?
This is what you might see through the eyes of your heart! But, you might also see that in my heart I long for someone to care for me, to take me and love me, shelter me, feed me, clothe me, educate me.
WHERE IS HOPE?
There is HOPE AT SAFE HARBOR BAPTIST CHILDREN'S HOME AND ORPHANAGE in Ogbomosho Oyo State, Nigeria
We need your help to rescue these orphans ONE AT A TIME. We will provide them with love, shelter, food, clothing, and a Christian Education. Most of all we will bring them up in the admonition of the Lord.
We need people who are really looking into their hearts and praying in Faith and asking God what can I do to help these helpless children. Unless we have the funds we cannot take in any more children. Unless we have the funds we cannot take care of the ones we already have. God is so GOOD to all of us. Let us all think what if this was my child? Help Jim and Jan provide for these children. for only $30 a month you can help provide all the basic needs for these children and help us take in more Orphans that are lost and alone. Also we need your prayers, we still need to meet the need of the rent of the house we rented for the Orphanage until we get the permanent homes built. We know this New Year is going to be Special for Safe Harbor Baptist Children's Home. Please pray and be a part of this ministry. God bless you in what the Lord
will have you to do for these children.
You can support a child through our Mission Board (Evangelism Missions Inc. P.O. Drawer 550, Thorsby, AL. 35171. Designate the support to Safe Harbor Orphanage Harvest field ministries. TWO CHILDREN RESCUED BY SAFE HARBOR BAPTIST CHILDREN'S HOME AND ORPHANAGE.
Esther- Lynn was abandoned on the door steps of a church in Ogbomoso in a plastic sack she was brought to a local hospital at the point of death. Safe Harbor Baptist Children's Home was called and we took the baby in and my wife named her Esther-Lynn. Lynn is my Jan's middle name. Esther-Lynn was later adopted by a Nigerian couple living here in the U.S. Esther-Lynn is doing great with her new parents.
Isaiah's birth mother was just 14 years old when she was raped by an older man. Helpless and no family to help she was about to have an abortion. But, God reached down and saved her at Faith Baptist Church. She then could not abort her unborn baby nor could she take care of a new born baby when it was born. She was counseled by Pastor Ojo on what could be done. She wanted Safe Harbor Baptist children's Home to her baby when it was born. He was named Isaiah and lives with one of our House Parent ( Timothy and Ronke Ojo. Isaiah is now almost three year old and is a very happy and love child.
